Sunday Morning Scrambled Eggs

Anyone who compares the recent speeches delivered by Chris Hipkins and Christopher Luxon about their vision for 2040 will immediately note that there was over three times more detail and planning information about how to get there in Chippy's speech.

I counted around 17 points of vision Chris Hipkins covered versus only a handful - perhaps 5 things Luxon mentioned.

A refresher about Chippy's vision :

1. Lower income people getting ahead

2. Fair pay

3. Homes for everyone who needs one

4. Mega Landlords pay their fair share of tax

5. Celebrating careers in trades

6. Getting around is cheaper and public transport connects us

7. More bus services and kids riding bikes

8. Communities safer

9. Parents of kids in trouble - supported

10. Practical skills taught in schools

11. Tech core part of education

12. Jobs a plenty

13. Living up to clean and green

14. Sustainable electricity generation

15. By Māori for Māori happening and Māori business thrives

16. All kids learn basic Te Reo

17. NZ embraces multiculturalism

There was more but that's the guts.

Notably the NZ Herald eventually got around to reporting that Chris Hipkins had delivered a speech - but the report provided no real detail and even the title said it was a vision for the party - not New Zealand. Nobody at the NZ Herald would put their name to the article neither - which says a lot really.

By contrast, the doomed NewsHub delivered the full transcript for both speeches, and I wondered if the NZ Herald political team were growing tired, or on vacation, or just not interested in Labour?

Had media become National supporters?

There was still no headlines across New Zealand media about Labour taking the lead off National in that Talbot poll - except for at Stuff / The Post - and increasingly things looked like Neoliberal crony dreams were being flushed down a one term toilet as the bungling Three Headed Taniwha wrecked itself.

Maybe the Nat media were in shock?

It probably does not help to have crony stories about Steven Joyce getting $1 Million at Waikato University ( Atlas Network NZ Initiative member ) and the hiring process being slammed by the Auditor General - or should I say condemned - which is about as bad as cronyism gets - while Audrey shudders with admiration at the skilful way - Joyce beat the other consultants ...to the crony bouquet - and worth every $4,000 per day - as he sets up the new Infrastructure Agency under Treasury.

As you know David Seymour is upset that there's no business case for the Joyce Crony Medical School at Waikato University, but the University ( an Atlas Network NZ Initiative member ) is already saying the development will kick off in July and tendering away - safe in the knowledge - that the Nats have committed $280 Million of the required $380 Million.

Stories are rife that Seymour will kick up like a show pony in cabinet unless the business case shows this Medical School is a good idea - despite studies that show it is not - while the University is carrying on like it's all a done deal.

The business case needs to be done by the 30 May - and that can't be done until the budget is released - on the same day.

Yes the mess is messy.

This is what the crony crap looks like to the public - who are not surprised Joyce is also working on projects with Winton - whose founder Mr Chris Meehan donated $103,000 to National to win the 2023 election and now unsurprisingly - Chris Bishop has invited Winton to apply for some fast track consenting...as the merry crony ship sails round and round right before voters faces.

It's the bad look of Pumpkin Head Jones dining with Coal Miners and Chris Bishop sending invites to Nat donors and Steven Joyce swinging from crony deal to crony deal - and the ridiculous blame game and BS of Simeon Brown that all adds up to swing back swing voters away from this shite and back to Labour.

No wonder the Herald is not able to report the details.

This is not the change the swing voters - voted for.

Labour leads.

Meanwhile Treasury told Nicola to prioritise returning to surplus - it was her one job and what did she do?

An ill timed tax bracket shift that will only make things worse and delay the fundamental ongoing pattern of regular deficits - every time there is an economic shock. The Treasury BIM ( Briefing to Incoming Minister ) and subsequent speech delivered by Treasury in February - told Willis - focus on that account deficit - get that back in order...and it also told her that it is not departmental spending that is the big factor - in a more sustainable fiscal policy - but outgoings - for example on a growing superannuation bill with an aging population, more and more of these climate weather events and - the rising costs of Healthcare - that's the big three - coming costs we need to solve.

Economists read the BIM and agreed but oh not loud mouth screecher Cats Bum.

Guess who knows best? Miss Foreign Buyers tax. Miss it all adds up. Miss it will be fully funded. Miss I will resign if I don't do the wrong thing by all of you.

No wonder more people do not think we are heading in the right direction and worse - NAT PR FROG - Janet Wilson the one who lead Jude the Rippers failed 2020 election campaign ( praying in the chapel ) is ringing a bell about selling off State Assets to raise a quick buck.

Worse Fran has likely whipped around the back streets and gleaned a sliver of an idea that it would be good to copy Singapore and only "rational" to do what raises prices for public services - focusing only on the shareholders - and there's that cronyship again.

I suspect the good old gals of the Nat ship CronyPop have not actually read the Treasury BIM in any detail but have run at the lippy and then pretended to know more than they do.

So let me pour all these scrambled eggs together onto a plate.

There's a big lesson for voters in all of this - which is voting against the "flow on impacts of a pandemic" and global economic shocks out of resentment against a good incumbent government is stupid.

Voters must own the way they voted in these crony Beagle Boys and learn not to keep doing this to our country.

Learn what National Governments actually do and their real agenda.

There's one guy out there who has a vision and it's not Christopher Luxon.

Stop bagging the good guy and fluffing up the fake.

We deserve the real Chris Hipkins - he's straight up and has the substance and experience and knowledge - and the vision.

He tears a strip in Parliament...off these crony clowns.

There's also Chlöe...

The Labour/Green/TPM future is the only way

Add just a pinch of salt...there's also better ways to raise revenue - like a capital gains tax and a wealth tax - and we know the wealthy minority fear these things more than anything.

Let's sort it.

Which is all I have to say about that.

Bon appétit
